About Us/?php endif; ?>
Holy Sepulchre Cemetery is the largest and most active of Rochester’s cemeteries, with 332 acres of land and nearly 300,000 burials. Approximately 1,800 interments take place in our gardens, mausoleums and columbaria each year. The newest addition to our property is the Christ Our Light Mausoleum. Dedicated in 2008, this incredible building is true to the principles that Bishop McQuaid established for our cemetery more than 135 years ago.
As a vital part of the Catholic community, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery is dedicated to the ministry of burying deceased members of our faith community in consecrated ground. Through the traditional Catholic burial rite, we emphasize respect for the human person, belief in resurrection of the body and celebration of life everlasting. Our commitment to our Catholic peers and their families means providing a peaceful and sacred site where they can gather in prayer and remembrance.
